Edvocacy Solutions
Edvocacy is uniquely positioned to
launch the first-ever scalable, affordable solutions for providing (a) an "early
warning system" that detects, measures and tracks patterns of literacy and reading
disabilities in young children; and (b) an online distance learning network through which
elementary school teachers across the nation can participate in PDP/graduate-level
curricula designed to disseminate converging scholarship and instructional best-practices
to help children with reading impairments succeed within a mainstream, inclusionary
classroom.
Edvocacy's mission is to facilitate
the identification and subsequent remediation of children with reading difficulties and/or
language-based learning disabilities, while driving enhanced individualized instruction;
effective progress monitoring and performance measurement; system-wide accountability; and
the overall improvement of communications between educators, administrators, parents and
other stakeholders.
Edvocacy's solutions are
complementary to national education reform initiatives, such as No Child Left Behind
(NCLB); Reading First (RF); and the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act
(IDEA). Most importantly, Edvocacy's solutions will be made available to every child,
and in every school in America, at no cost to students, teachers, schools, or
districts.
