| Online Training: Literacy Assessment and the Logitech Digital Pen Edvocacy will launch its Edvocacy Distance Learning (EDL) online distance learning platform, in order to provide teachers and administrators with interactive training and instruction. Initially, two distance learning products will be created. The first course, titled "Automating Data Capture for Literacy Assessment," will be a short, 30-minute introduction and general overview of the benefits of automated data capture; the process by which this is achieved; a brief tutorial on the Logitech Digital Pen; and a "how-to" managing data uploads. The second course, "An Introduction to Literacy Assessment and Performance Measurement," will include an introduction to literacy assessment (including the DIBELS©, specifically). The EDL user interface will provide teachers and administrators with a rich, interactive experience, and will incorporate streaming audio and video; a combination of knowledge gates, online quizzes and tests; information shares; opt-in secure chat and/or messaging capabilities; group activities; and the like. Teachers and administrators will be able to access this content from their workplace or home, through a secure Website. |
